justmarrissa asked you: I first would like to say that your poetry is beautiful, and very much and inspiration to me. You know that feeling when you look at life, the beauty of it and you just find a sense of peace and serenity. Despite most of your subjects, it makes me feel that all is well. Secondly, I wanted to know if you could write a poem about letting go. Letting go of past mistakes and regrets. It’s something that hangs on my life like an anchor and I wanted to see how you perceived it.
That is such a beautiful description of my work, thank you so much. Something in your message made me think of this poem. I wrote it awhile ago and it is really special to me. I was having one of those moments internally when I felt it was time to let go, to stop fighting for something that was no longer fighting for me. It was a quiet reflection and I always think of it as the starting point of when I began to see my life from a more philosophical point of view. You never really forget the past but time will put things into perspective and one day you’ll understand why things had to happen the way they did. I hope you like it. x
